Feral Pitch

A vicious sibling argument drives Vera Castillo straight into the arms of her brother’s sworn rival. Marco, star pitcher of the Wolves, is the league’s dominant right-hander. His need for control stretches far beyond the diamond; for a decade, he has dictated his younger sister’s social circle and every major choice in her life. Callen Vosse, left-handed ace of the Vipers, was once Marco’s most trusted teammate. Back in high school, he took full blame for a scandal to protect Marco, only to be coldly cast aside without a second thought. After Marco humiliates Vera publicly at a party, Callen shows up at her doorstep. Following one impulsive night, the two strike a dangerous deal: they will fake a romantic relationship. She aims to reclaim the autonomy her brother has stolen from her. He seeks to make his betrayer pay. They draw clear boundaries and lay out strict ground rules. Neither anticipates that their pretend affection will fade far sooner than planned. As buried truths unravel, Vera realizes the man she has labeled a villain for ten years silently carried everyone’s secrets alone for a decade. All those carefully written rules were nothing but empty lies from the very start.
